What’s in our Coffee Roast Log for January 2017?
Our coffee roast log is filling up in the early part of this month. We have been doing some experimenting and are finding some nice roasted coffee coming out the other side. This month has brought the addition of a new air roaster, so we are in the middle of the break-in period. As it stands right now, we are making progress.
A List of Roasts
- Three batches of varying medium roasts.
- One batch of very light blonde.
- One batch that burned. It was an attempt at a French/Vienna roast. Disqualified!
Next Roasts
- A larger batch of darker medium.
- A darker batch of blonde roast.
- Blend experimentation.
This is turning out to be a good month of production. The roasting experience has been fun, scientific, and challenging. The new air roaster is a puzzle that is being solved.
